Good News and the Other News

Meets Every Sunday, Room 211

newspaper

In the past year, there have been dramatic and significant events in the news. Dictators have been overthrown and wild variations in the stock market, Osama bin Laden is killed and a monument to Martin Luther King is dedicated in Washington, famine continues in Africa and   natural disasters have occurred around the globe. As people of faith we are called to be engaged in the world and reflect upon everyday events by pondering what Scripture has to say to such matters and at DPC we’d like to create a weekly opportunity to do just that.

Man Talk

Meets Every Sunday, Room 120

A forum for men of DPC to gather for a time of study and fellowship where we can comfortably address the myriad personal problems that men silently face and never openly discuss. Each session is presented by a Christian professional or Bible scholar. Coordinated by Lou Zoppel.

April 22 - "Out of the Wilderness"
Dr. John Willingham is the Senior Pastor of DPC.

The Word Among Us

Meets Every Sunday, Room 207

This ongoing class studies books of the Bible in a small group atmosphere.  We are currently working our way through the Old Testament book of Exodus, which details the Israelites’ deliverance from captivity in Egypt and the crucial years of their learning what it means to be God’s chosen people. Led by Margaret Thoresen and Dick Cornelius.

Crossroads: Great Sermons

Meets Every Sunday, Room 203

Each week in this class, we listen to an audio of a sermon by a different preacher and then discuss the style and content of the sermon.  Led by Mike Finlan.

April 15 - Barbara Lundblad, "Water on a Desert Road"
April 22 - William Willimon, "Do Muslims, Christians, and Jews Worship the Same God?"
